These bath salts have been a standby for me lately and only take a few minutes to mix up. The blend of essential oils used in this recipe aid in muscle relaxation and increased circulation, the epsom salt base helps relieve aches and pains, and the baking soda softens skin.

Relaxation Bath Salts - Grounded Magazine

Base:

  • 2 cups Epsom Salt
  • 2 cups Baking Soda

Essential Oil Blend*:

  • 30 drops Marjoram
  • 30 drops Rosemary
  • 20 drops Clary Sage
  • 40 drops Lavender
  • 20 drops Thyme
  • 20 drops Eucalyptus
  • 30 drops Cyprus
  • 10 drops Ylang Ylang
  • 10 drops Geranium

Preparation:

Mix together the epsom salt and baking soda in a large bowl. Add the essentials oils being sure to incorporate each one well before moving on. Pour into a container with a tight lid.

Use:

Begin filling up your bath with warm water. Pour ¼-½ cup of the bath salts under running water and let dissolve. Get in and relax.

*Note: This is the blend I use, but feel free to alter it according to what you have on hand. Also, if you have skin sensitivities, I would recommend using fewer drops or eliminating the essential oils all together.
